Hurst Castle

Olive enjoying her cultural visit x

A "there and back" walk to Hurst Castle along the spit. Great views of the Isle of Wight, the needles and the solent. The spit is made of shingle so sturdy footwear (trainers or boots) is best. Prams would be very difficult to push. No public toilets outside the castle, only if you pay to enter the castle.

There is a ferry from Keyhaven (SO41 0TP) which you could take instead of doing the walk there and back.

Closest food/drink stop: Needles eye cafe, The lighthouse or Hurst Castle Cafe

TIPS:

You need to pay to enter the castle, but the walk itself is lovely even if you don’t go inside the castle.
