Creekmoor Ponds Nature Reserve

This is a lovely walk with semi-mature woodland, scrub, rough grassland and remnant heathland.

The site was originally a large sand reserve which was mined heavily between 1920 and 1950. The removal of the sand left 2 large pits which, after they flooded, became Creekmoor Ponds.

Dogs on leads from 1st March to 31st July.

There are common waterfowl & dragonflies. Look out for great crested grebe & small colourful firecrest.
There are lots of squirrels, ducks & swans. A cormorant was posing for us when we went!

Length of walk: Roughly 2 & a half miles around the 2 ponds.
